It's important that you always have a back up black ink cartridge on hand. That's because when your current one runs dry, your printer will continue to make black ink out of the other three ink cartridges in your printer. The three color ones. Which will run out a lot faster. Which means you have to replace them sooner. Which you can avoid, if you remember to replace your black ink cartridge when it needs it. So make sure you have a backup. This Canon Black Ink Cartridge can yield approximately 500 pages.
